Pass the College Transparency Act (S.839)

For veterans, the successful transition to the civilian workforce often begins on a college campus. In IAVA’s most recent member survey, 75% of IAVA members reported having used, currently using, or transferring their Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit. 87% believe it is extremely or very important to transition to civilian life. Unfortunately, when schools look at military-connected students, they see dollar signs. But, currently, higher education data isn’t serving those who served by giving them what they need to have the freedom of choice about the use of GI Bill funds. How can we ask our nation’s veterans to make this major decision without the information they need to ensure it’s a smart use of their time and money?

The College Transparency Act (S.839) would give military-connected students more information about their education options by making necessary improvements to the current GI Bill Comparison Tool. These improvements would fill critical information gaps and improve the overall student-veteran experience.

Act Now! Tell your Members of Congress to support the College Transparency Act! We must ensure that military-connected are well-equipped to make informed decisions about their education options.
