Support Amendment to the "National Security Act, 2024" that Supports our Afghan Allies

Many American veterans, especially those who served in Operation Enduring Freedom over the last two decades, were troubled by the chaotic exit by the U.S. and our allies from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021.  The US-backed government essentially collapsed overnight, and we left behind nearly all of the Afghans who partnered with us during the war, despite having promised them a pathway to safety in the U.S. following their service alongside us.

To right this tremendous wrong and send a strong message to the world that we are following through with our commitment to stand by our wartime allies, it is imperative that we pass into law a means to ensure those who served alongside our men and women in uniform in Afghanistan are able to gain the legal status here in the United States that we promised them.

IAVA strongly urges support for Senators Klobuchar, Moran, Coons, and Wicker’s amendment to the National Security Act, 2024 supporting our Afghan allies. Our Afghan allies, veterans, and servicemembers cannot wait any longer. Support this amendment and help ensure that this country keeps its promise to those who served with our nation’s military.

Act Now! Tell your Senator to vote yes and pass this critical amendment and ensure that this country keeps its promise to those who served our country's military.
